Can anyone explain to me what Juhi Chawla's role in the film is? From the promos it looks like she's Akshay's ex or a rival for his romantic interest. None of the reviews have bothered to explain her part in the story.

She is a doctor and a friend of Akshay's.

She appears at points in the second half, and makes an impact, but doesn't have a lot of airtime.
