A different ending?

****SPOILERS*******

Was it just me, or were other people disappointed when the movie turned to all about Akshay's disease and suddenly trying every possible way to save his life? It seemed too Kal Ho Na Ho, and I thought Akshay would be affected deeply by Kareena's bitter words and actually go back to his home town and find his roots. I thought that would have been a better plotline. Does anyone agree?

I liked the ending -- it was moving and it allowed for a lot of iconic scenes like the blood transfusion, the glance from Kareena as Ishq Na Ishq Ho played in the background, and the suicidal dance to cap off a lifetime of helping a friend.

The second half was what made this movie a "WOW" movie in my opinion. It also isn't all that much like Kal Ho Naa Ho. The few scenes that might be parallel, are in a different better order, with different emphasis, and fit better in the storyline.

Akshay going back to discover his roots would have been interesting too. I don't know, maybe the movie could have included both!

While I agree that it would have been an interesting plotline, I think what made this film unique was the fact that it focused on the friendship plotline...and the romance subplot was kept to a minimum. The focus given on the two's friendship made this movie truly meaningful, and allowed the audience to see how deep their friendship actually was.

I did not understand the last few minutes of the movie. Why did bobby(Karan) gets the award at the end?

Who was the little kid named Raj?

reply

The little kid named Raj was Karan's son.
