First time I saw it I thought it was bad...

But it gets better everytime you watch it again. If you thought it sucked the first time keep trying to watch it again and you might start to get entertained.

I actually enjoyed it first time i saw it. I didn't find it laugh-out-loud funny, but just passable entertainment, it wasn't horrible like others paint it to be. And yes, i think it gets better with time.

Yeah it starts out pretty terrible, but it gets better. Passable entertainment is accurate. In a second viewing you are probably better prepared for that.

I enjoyed it on the first time around.

On my way 4 2day's Christmas season soon as I step on the sleigh I'm hearin children screamin

Robin Williams had the ability to take mediocre material and make it entertaining.
He was a charming guy.

My expectations were low, I was thinking it would be similar to the relatively new 'National Lampoon's Vacation' remake, and my hope was that it might be passable entertainment.

The movie was a little bit better than I thought, so I was able to kind of enjoy it. Having 'Larry's Wife' in it was a pleasant surprise - her character is almost identical to Cheryl, though.

It's a typical 'pretty OK movie' you want to watch when you're in a hangover or something. It won't disturb you or move you or give you memorable moments, it doesn't give anything unexpected, it doesn't have any surprises, and it'll be completely safe and harmless.

Except for the disgusting scenes about sewage that I wish they had left out, eww.

As for Robin Williams - he's of course a genius comedian and brilliant actor, but in here, he seems somehow depressed, and most of the time, you feel sorry for him. His character is also a punching bag that everyone walks over, so it feels like a miracle when he suddenly shows competence in the meeting, and the ending scene is a bit shocking, because.. how are they going to get back after that, how much trouble would you be in after trashing a cop car, how much would it cost, how much would you have to pay for the other people's car, and so on. It almost trashes its own happy ending.

This movie is very hard to review, because there's not that much content in it.

As a sidenote, I found the Gormickies extremely charming and kind, and I would've loved to be friends with them. The motivation for the family to panic about them so much was not really established well enough to be obvious. In fact, I don't really know what was so bad about them - they even sing very well! (At least their performance should've been somehow upsetting or bad in quality, but it was gosh darned excellent and I would've genuinely applauded for it)
