if this is movie I watched on the NASA channel that was about 2 hours long, folling the moon landing? The camera work was typically early 70's-ish, and it was amazing to watch. I simply cannot find the title of that movie, as I joined in about 15 minutes into it.

Maybe -- The total runtime is 54 minutes however, which when padded with commercials for broadcast TV would have been a solid hour. There actually WAS a home video release from 1989 by a company called "American Video", I found one at a yard sale for about a dollar and it's one of the strangest movies I've ever seen and yeah, probably the best documentary on Apollo ever made.
