I mean c'mon, does the mangler 2 even have anything to do with the first one besides the virus is called magler 2.0? Can i just skip that piece of crap and go onto the mangler 3? cause that actually has something to do with the first one! Is it like halloween 3?.... now that was *beep* where it isn't even about Michael Myers but some stupid evil masks?

Mangler 2 just shares the title. Nothing more. It is like any of the Halloween movies after 2. Or Friday the 13th: A New Beginning.
Or a lot of other series films.
I just finished watching Mangler 2 on On Demand. I must say, it was an interesting movie. not as macabre as the first, but it was pretty good. I've yet to watch the 3rd installment. is it any good?

No, i just watched 3 On Deamnd, I would've prefered seeing Mangler 2 over again. It's one of those dreadful movies where the "victims" don't even get the illussion of victory. While I has always thought that should happen from time to time, I have yet to see a movie pull off that kind of ending. (Mangler 3, Dead Space, Wicker Man)
It's supposed to be part of the original machine but looks nothing like it and is a helluva lot smaller. (easily fits in a 2nd floor bedroom)
Far as the halloween 3 thing, While it isn't about Myers, he is actually mentioned on a TV during the movie. I also read that the plan was to never go back to the Myers storyline, but re-use the name every 2 or 3 films with completely new stories, but was scrapped when H3 bombed.
Think of Mangler 3 like a bad Amityville Horror sequel. (The Amityville Curse bad) M3's story has no good points at all.
All the doors have no knobs, just deadbolts. Now everytime I try to close a door with no knob to hold onto, it hardly wants to stay shut filmly enough to lock it.
yes yes yes! just skip the second one! this movie is much more respectable then the second!

sharebasically, according to the opening credits, this guy buys the parts of the original mangler and rebuilds it in his house, so its a direct sequel, while 2 just uses the name, that being said one is good, the rest suck, but 3 was better than 2
sharethis is the 2nd movie I've seen om FearNet in 2 days, and this one makes the last one look like it was written by Shakespeare. The kills were gory, and some of the early suspense was somewhat decent, but this had NO character development at all!! Just off the top of my head:
-What was the tension over the daughter coming home about?
-Why was his cheek rotting?
-How did the ear-wound magically disappear halfway through the movie?
-WHY was he rebuilding The Mangler? Was he chosen by the evil, and again, WHY?
-What was accomplished by drinking blood in a bowl?
Seriously, with more plot and character development, this had potential. It's like they didn't even try.

Reborn is miles ahead of part 2, despite having Henrikson in the film, it's terrible.
Reborn, on the other hand had it's moments.
the guys that made part 2 were planning a part 3, they mention it on the behind-the-scenes footage on the second film's DVD
