Depressing

I liked the movie, nothing special for me, but there was this kind of pretty unpleasant, gratuitous depressing feeling through it I couldn't ignore.
Now, I know life IS unfair, and I do appreciate "depressing" stuff when it's good. But I just didn't expect that from a movie like that. I know it's a pretty mature and bittersweet comedy, but there was too much bitterness for my taste to really enjoy it (like I was planning to).
But yeah, I'd rather be awkwardly surprised than being bored by how straight-forward and uninspired something turns out.
