Titled as invasion.

Just seen the Movie at my local shop with the Title "Invasion" not war of the worlds. Only found it on here cos i looked up movies with Jake Busey in them.

Surprised it not listed on here under the new title. IMDb seem to be pretty sharp on this kinda thing.

Might give it a go one night if i get desperate.

A-HA! Somebody else has noticed!!!

I borrowed this DVD from a friend at work and it was most definately called 'Invasion'. Strange because I have been wanting to see the Asylum version of WOTW for some time, and then I end up with it in my posession without realising it.

Anyway, I fell asleep watching it, mind you, I was very tired.

Strange.

Without doubt, the film's original title (as seen on the slate in the extras, and noted here on imdb) was Invasion. I presume they only called it WotW when they figured out they could legally do it.

Where are the titles labled as "Invasion" appearing? Presumably it's got to be non-US markets where different copyright laws apply. Blackmoon is from the UK (so that makes sense), but what about the others?

Might be something to do with H. G. Wells not being mentioned anywhere in the credits, unless I missed it.

This is what Wikipedia has to say on the alternate title:

"The alternate title of Invasion is likely for the film's overseas distribution since Paramount owns exclusive rights to the War of the Worlds title outside of the United States."
