I'm sorry but if my son looked as girlish as C Thomas Howell's sond does, I would be loathe to encourage him to grow his hair out like that. My wife and I struggled to figure out of that was a boy or a girl playing his son. Then I find out that it is his real life son! Poor kid.

Who cares about the ages of the actors? I doubt the characters are being portrayed with the actors' real ages. Ever seen Dawson's Creek? Did you seriously buy that Dawson and his friends were all 15? Because they were more like 25.
