What's happening with the sequel?

It's completely dead, I assume?

The ending suggests a sequel. Without one, it's kind of a crappy ending

reply

I assume they meant for there to be a sequel, as there are multiple books, but this movie did so poorly that I think all chances for a sequel are kaput.

I loved the movie. Now to figure out how to be a producer so that we can make the other movies, lol.

no. figure out how to get 100 million dollars so that the movie can BE produced. oh, you can't figure out how to make 100 million dollars? tough luck.

OR, figure out how to travel back in time and silence the idiots (book readers mainly) trashing this film, instead persuade them to go watch it at the theatres. oh, you can't figure out how to travel in time. i guess we're all out of luck then.

I REALLY want a sequel, a whole series of films. i don't care about angela or the other inaccuracies - i LOVED the film in its own right. but the book readers succeeded in putting a permanent end to this series on screen. It sucks, but there it is, and we do know who's to blame. The self-righteous idiots on this forum who never saw the film in the theater.

Eh.... I dont really think the problem was the blatant inconsistencies between book and movie... Fantasy movies are my favorite of all time. I wanted to love this movie... and I am very lenient with fantasy movies. I thought this movie was cool. 5/10.

But let us be very honest with each other.... the main reason to want to see a sequel is knowing how great the next books are. Seeing that movie there is no real desire to see a sequel just based on the merit of that movie in and of itself. Weak character development.... bad acting... I would rather see a remake than a sequel. I would rather see the story revamped vs the original characters continued... I have no emotional connection to anything in the original movie. Murtagh MAYBE.... but thats reaching.

Well , after reading all the reviews I must tell you that I'm watching this film now on cable channel " Sky Movie Greats" : ) here in New Zealand. They certainly did leave it open for a sequel & at least pay for TV thinks it's Great.

After 8 years its unlikely there will be a sequel!

Its that man again!!

agreed. this film did not do well enough for a reboot either. the book fans successfully quashed all hope of ever seeing this story on the big screen. i read the books and am a book fan ACROSS THE BOARD, but in this case, the book fans were MORONS. however, there have been some B-grade fantasy series produced for cable over the years that i've enjoyed watching, like legend of the seeker. lower production values, but i think that is the best we can hope for with this book series - and i for one would settle for that.

The fans didn't ruin chances for sequel. The screen writer director did! Not only did they mess this movie up beyond repair, but they also didn't end it correctly. Eragon suffered a huge wound across his back in the last fight and that is a HUGE plot point throughout book 2. It is critical! Book 2 doesn't work without it. Yet we see him riding off in the daylight at the end of the movie. They ruined this series!
