Good concept but cheesy execution!

The only thing I really have to say is good on you guys for getting this project done. BUT!!! For future projects, please, please do not bring out the very bad power ranger fight scenes. The choreography is good but it was like watching the power rangers again and it did not fit in this type of genre, not to mention the fact that there is no real explanation as to why these highschool students are super ninjas. Saying they took karate lessons is not plausible. I was kind of enjoying this film in a bad b-film sort of way until the power ranger scenes broke out. The fights were power rangers, there was no attempt to change the fighting styles to make this more realistic. It didn't fit at all.

I was thinking the same thing when I watched it. But to me it was good to see them, especially Johnny, doing his thing again. I was a MMPR fan from the beginning, and I miss those episodes. I think Johnny should do a martial arts flicks instead.

i still do think that the biomen of japan are the best. they can beat the MMPRs anytime of the day

You're right. I'd expect a great deal more realism from a movie with characters named Symphony, Genesis, Freedom and Fatima, who all know each other...

Fatima does sound like a normal name a little bit. Symphony sounds like a name someone thought of off the back, but wouldn't be as bad. Genesis and Freedom? Those do sound like weird names.

I think the names were all supposed to carry some plot significance but the screenwriting failed to pull it off. You know, sort of a new age spin on the Protestant use of names like Faith, Hope, Charity, Patience, Quaintence and Grace? Genesis = the power of creation, Symphony = working twords a common goal, and Freedom is well, untimately, both release and Truth. I thought maybe that was where they were going with it but there weren't enough clues and Fatima just didn't fit execpt as a swap out for Faith. Also the names didn't match the characters' roles and arcs but they could have been made to easily.

BTW, Fatima is a common Latina name and even just a common name for any Catholic girl as is Lourdes becaiuuse both refer to famous Marian Apperition sites of tremendous devotion to Catholics. Fatima is often shortened to "Tima" (Teema) and I've known a number of Timas in my time, mostly Filipino. The Lourdeses I've known have been mostly Italian which is off given that Lourdes was in Portugal but Our Lady of Lourdes is really big amongst devout Italians.
