trailer was ruined

I was moved and intrigued by the trailer up til the end. It cut to black and then it seemed like it was over but then came back on some scene with happy people dancing and the main character laying on the ground saying, "I hate this song." It was totally a cynical way to end an otherwise heartwarming trailer. I think they were afraid it was too sentimental so they tacked that bit on. Although, after seeing such a negative review of this film, maybe I won't track it down after all.

I thought it was funny thet way they end it. It tells you the story. Then there are people dancing and he says "I hate this song". Which was an annoying song.

I'm human and I need to be loved.

Sometimes cynicism is funny. It brings a human note to the film and it also helps to connect with the audience, showing them that he has the same feelings like everyone else. We all hate at least some genres of music...

normally i'd agree with you, but the filmmaker himself describes the movie on his website as an "inspirational AND humorous non fiction account of a remarkable man and a remarkable journey." in that sense, he made it clear that the movie isn't going to be a pure tear jerker, but it'll have some comic relief in it.

personally i thought it was hilarious at the end of the trailer :)
