Patrick Stewart that desperate?

What's he doing in a TV movie? He's Professor X for fry's sake... I mean, isn't he doing theatre in his off time? Why do renouned actors sully their name with stupid movies? Look at Ben Kingsley, what the cow is he doing, participating in a Uwe Boll film? Uwe Boll!?!?

For the money of course .

Maybe, he thought this endeavor was going to turn out better than it did.
Otherwise, he would have to be desperate.

I think all the known names in this drek were bamboozled as to the quality of the production. One thing you must also realize is an actor can go to work on a production for a week and be done. This flick may have had a lot more promise and backing when the names were still yet to shoot, and then some funding gets cut and big scenes do not get shot.
From the bouncing around this flick did, I suspect that is what happened. Large swaths of expensive to shoot scenes were re-written after the principal shooting was about a third of the done.
I would more like think Stewart was more of a trooper for sticking with a flick that let him play a character he was fond of when he found out it was not going to be the Hallmark "nice little movie" his agent told him he was going to be doing. Stewart is an actor and loves his work. He has been at it for a long time in a lot more things than you have seen.
