Who was your favorite client?

My favorite was Johnny the Southamerican/Spanish client.

Peter: "That could be very dangerous"
Johnny: "No it's okay 'coz nobody saw me."
Peter: "Dangerous for HER I mean."

Brilliant!

Monty... it has to be Monty...

Every character is a gem and a testament to the skill of Whitehouse but Monty is simply wonderful.

Have to agree with Aaron-1978 on that one, i remember the first time i watched the first episode, i missed the start and wasnt even aware that Paul was playing Monty until about midway through the sketch which is a testament to Pauls character acting skills as well as top notch make up. The voice in particular is flawless and Monty is the one character who can also make you cry with his constant optism despite leading (in Peters eyes) quite a sad, unfulfilled life having to care for loved ones all his life. Its sad to think that these 6 episodes are all that we will ever see of Monty as he was a remarkably articulate honest funny character

Yes, Monty is my favourite, but Johnny and the gay guy Ricky who thinks of himself as "a fat old woman with bingo wings" and doesn't know what his young boyfriend sees in him.

Monty the Jewish cab driver who has a housebound wife called Rose with alzheimer's whom he adores. Monty can teach the therapist more than he can learn from him. He even ends up taking over one of Peter's sessions to be an unofficial marriage guidance counsellor for another of Peter's clients.

Johnny says stuff like:
"taking the mickey-piss"
"lost like a snail in the night"
"disrupt like a volcano"
and
"catch 29 situation" - no it's catch 22? - "Oh no, it's much worse than that!"

Gary is a bit of a lad and doesn't believe he needs therapy.

Silent Guy Bradley:
lives in a dream world and is too shy to say anything, other than apologising for not speaking.
But there is still room for a lot of poignant and hilarious acting by use of facial expressions, and cue cards.
Peter tries to guess what has happened to him but ends up giving away a little more than he wanted to about himself.

Northern Irish guy Louie:
bearded hippy
barks like a dog
likes the number 22
expresses his feelings by dance
admits he doesn't take his medication

Peter's own therapist is an Aussie also played by Paul Whitehouse who is very blunt and slapdash - more of an Aussie stereotype than a thoughtful therapist, but he is hilarious!

Michael looks like an old rocker, but not the other musicians who are separate characters. Michael claims to be able to invade people's minds.

The two old rockers who love and hate each other and hug and punch each other.

Posh old guy with a speech impedement and takes ages to walk across the floor with two walking sticks. With very funny consequences.

Celebrity who thinks he's dead famous but Peter's never heard of him. The whole first sketch is spent with Peter trying to find out why he's famous without actually asking him outright - extremely funny!

Welsh singing guy - he even has Peter singing.

Brummy guy who Peter hypnotises, then spills tea over him while he's 'out'.

Howard the northerner who has no confidence. Lives with his mother and thinks sex is overrated.

Then there are a number of other characters who only appear once or twice.

But the whole series is brilliant. Such a shame it had to end. A second series was written but I can understand why Whitehouse wants nothing to do with it even if they got a new actor to play the therapist.
