Question about the movie (spoiler)

1. The main female charater's grandmom died in the sleep when the train accident happened. How does this relate to the main story?

2. Some of the ghosts are unaware of their death. The female charater's father, the two kids, the professor and the couple who were late don't seen to know they are dead. How come the female attendant ghost does know that she's dead?

3. The two kids ghosts' parents were trying to commit suicide. How does that relate to the story?

4. The kid ghosts wanted to crush the ghost train because they thought if they crush it, they can see their father. However, if the main female's father ghost did not switch the rail, nothing is going to happen to the ghost train. What are the two kid ghosts thinking?

5. The main female's father ghost switch the rail twice. One in real life. One as the ghost. It seems some ghosts keep on riding the ghost train over and over again and does same thing over and over again. Do they ever arrive at a desination?

I was as confused as you....but about more than that. At the end it showed..whats her name...and the train turned all rusted looking, etc. Did that mean that all those people on the train died, the ending confused me when they were sitting on the rocks etc. It would have been a good movie, had there not been so many WTF moments.

I thought I'd try and have a crack at these.

1. I don't think it really had anything to do with the main story. It might have been to establish the little girl as memorable.

2. Perhaps the father, professor, and couple are in some sort of limbo and are constantly reliving their train ride, not knowing they were dead. Or maybe they felt like they couldn't move on. At the end the father says something about "making sure they all move on" or something. Maybe with the attendant she knew she was dead, but she was hanging around because she had unfinished business (the fight she had with her boyfriend right before she died). Of course, this is all speculation, but that's what I got from it.

3. The parents were going to take their kids to the beach and then have them all commit mass suicide by poison. The poison fell out of their bag and the attendant kicked it and accidentally smashed the bottle of poison. The father felt he had no other choice but to hijack the train and crash it. Not sure why he didn't think he could buy more poison at the beach, but whatever.

4. I'm not sure what you're asking here, but I think the reason that they were trying to crash the train is because they felt like they should have died during the original crash and they only way to be in the same place as their parents was to recreate the accident.

5. Like I said in the 2nd question, I think that they didn't want to let go, or couldn't move on, so they relived the same train ride. They probably could never get to their intended destination because that part of the track had been closed off since the accident. In the end they turned to dust because they had made it to their final destination and were able to move on.

Hope that helps. Not saying I'm right or anything, this is just what I got from the movie (which I literally just finished a few hours ago).

1. I assume the grandmother died of a heart attack when she saw the news about the train crash involving her son (or son-in-law ?).
