Familiar Plot

Sounds similar to Harrison Ford's "Random Hearts" (1999), but will watch it for Ye-Jin Son. She's simply gorgeous...

reply

Not only "Random Hearts", the plot is similar to Wong Kar Wai's "In the Mood for Love" too

reply

was gonna say..."In the mood for love, what?"

hey, can anyone give me the english translation of another movie the lead was in?

it's called "Nae meorisokui jiwoogae"

Style is about choice not concept. It should be organic not composed.

reply

It's "A Moment to Remember". Awesome movie.

And "In The Mood For Love" didn't deal with death. It dealt with extramarital affairs, which is a pretty broad plot device.

April Snow is actually more similar to Kieslowski's "Bleu"

reply

Well, April Snow wasn't just about death, it was also about extra-marital affairs too. And yes, there are shades of Wong Kar-Wai's ITMFL here, not just on plot but also in the slow, quiet pacing of the movie. Just substitute rain with snow, the narrow streets of 1960s Hong Kong with the wide open space of South Korea's countryside, you'll have another version of ITMFL, albeit set in 2005.

reply

Yep..for me the story is same plot as Cousins (1989) starring Ted Danson.
