VERY BORING!!

I love asian movies, but this movie is very boring... Sorry:(

Well, I watched it and I liked it even though it's very slow, but I really like Son Ye-jin.

Yes, it is a very slow moving movie. and very quiet too. I think it was done that way on purpose. Some people might find it boring, but I liked it. The chemistry between the two main characters was interesting. Son Ye Jin is quite cute. The awkwardness between the two characters is slowly replaced by the pseudo "in love" type feeling and it was interesting to watch.

I liked it even though it's very slow . . .
I think the pace was dictated by the "awkward", and I don't mean this in a negative way, subject matter, and I think it was very well handled. I kept putting myself into the protagonists' situation. What a situation to find oneself in.

The pacing of this film was slow (obviously on purpose) but I don't think boring is the right word. Maybe awkward and anxious? Those 2 descriptors relate solely to the characters interaction throughout the film.

I enjoyed this film quite a bit. The lack of dialogue was the most appealing and believable aspect of this film. I wasn't a big fan of the ending but to each their own.

I have to agree on this one. The story has a lot of potential but what the outcome is not enough. The pace was too slow to me, and the silence between the characters did not succeed to become a powerful tool to get the feelings across. I saw the characters have some feelings but actually it didn't really touch me as the viewer (movies such as "The Classic" or "Love Letter" would be the opposite). Moreover, I find the movie too predictable. There was no real surprise whatsoever.

Yes, quite realistic and fairly low key.

The love scenes were very well done, I thought.

I have to agree. The film was very boring. I usually don't mind slow or low-key films, but I didn't feel that April Snow used this sense of stillness in a way that was involving or interesting.

I like it that way...

It was a slow-moving movie.Son Ye-jin was great again as usual.

reply

agree, the pace is beyond slow

hope they did not find it too boring during filming

Ironically, I found it slow, but not boring. I actually found it tasteful, tender, and moving. The plot was deliciously wicked, and the slowness of the pacing of the film gave a nice counterbalance to the otherwise tabloid nature of the subject matter.

I have to strongly disagree with the original poster on the thread, this is one of my favourite South Korean films of all time. To me the storyline was touching and beautiful and I was really rooting for In Su and Seo Young to get their well deserved happy ending. As an Asian film buff I often find many movies too predictable for my liking, but the storyline of April Snow took a couple of turns that I didn't expect towards the end...I am a massive fan of director Hur Jin Ho and also rate Happiness and Christmas In August equally highly in his filmography.

Bollyprincess -- thanks for the interpretation. The constant slow glimpses of pain and grief and love could have been done in fewer minutes for my satisfaction. I wonder how other directors or storytellers would have handled the situation. I'm not looking for more HUR films. I'm 78 years old.
