Sarandon and Neil a bit old for their roles

Sam Neil and Susan Sarandon are both pretty well preserved, but I couldn't help but think they were a bit old for parents with young children in this film. I know some people have kids in their fifties but it's not exactly common either.

Agreed. Good film though.

Susan Sarandon at 60 playing the mother of young kids is impossible to believe.
Also the accents are all over the place

I dont think they were playing there age, as was emily blunt she was 23 at the time of the films release but I swear she was playing a 30 year old.

But it was within the bounds of believability... Sarandon as mother of those kids is unbelievable

She was playing a 49 year old in this movie.
