Excellent Film

I watched this recently, with it being taken off Netflix soon I thought, hey why not? I'm a fan of Keri Russell and the synopsis really grabbed my attention. I was blown away at how gripping the film is, I usually will play a video game or go online when watching a film, but in this case I was really focused on the story. Keri Russel's character suddenly went from the reason I watched to wanting to see more about the "Cannibal" and "Victim" the story really manages to develop the characters to a point where you really feel sympathy for them. The story is through the eyes of Russel's character as she writers a thesis on the true case, so the sympathy could be conveyed from her point of view and not necessarily the actual people.
I like how the film takes its time, in films like these its easy to go on too long and lose the audience, but each scene continues to grab your attention and learn more about them, why they are in this situation, what makes them want what they want, there's even a point in the film where Oliver meets a man from the site, who claims he wants to be his willing victim and than goes against it at the very end, the film could have easily made him go crazy and beat the guy to a bloody pulp or outright kill him, but it didn't it showed restraint and also show that this guy does't wanna "hurt" the person and it really struck me as a great way to humanize the character.
Overall the film does a great job at keeping you interested, maybe even to the point where you look up the real man and see for yourself if he is any similar. I also loved that the Rammstein song "Mein Teil"(this is the song that got me into them) was also inspired by this case.
