Why? (spoilerish)

Why did they show us right off the bat that Jeff/Patrick was just going after the jewels?

Shouldn't they have left it like... oh, she met a cute guy, it's going well... then BAM! guess what, he's after the jewels.

Would've been much better, and more surprising.

This way, you couldn't fuss over him being so sweet and cute in the beginning (unless you're a Nick Lea fan like me, and fuss over him anyway... ha ha).

Whatever.

Happy to see that someone has written something on the film...I'm new in this website,i've just registered...do you want us to comment about "deadly isolation"?Thank you.

It was a decision, obviously. You are supposed to follow the story and see the woman in jeopardy. Otherwise it would have been a different movie.

It would be better if it was the way you suggested. I ended up feeling sorry for the dude i actually wanted him to get the diamonds. Wouldn't have been the case if we didn't see the plan from the start

I think that it helped the story to show what he was up to from the very beginning. I think that any explanation and back-tracking afterwards, to keep that a secret, would have spoiled the flow of the movie.
