based on

is this based more on bonnie and clyde, or catch me if you can?

reply

The pair do seem like an indian bonnie and clyde, except they're not killing people.

I was definately thinking "Catch me if you can" while I was watching this movie. Really similar concept.

the only thing these movies had incommon was the ending (somewhat) and that there was a cop chasing them.

The fraud techniques wasn't the same nor the dynamic.

This movie was a combination of both.

*Spoiler*

The idea of con artists chased by a determinted cop and then turning good is very "catch me if you can." It is a bit disappointing that every Hindi movie seems to copy an American one....

But don't get me wrong; I love Bollywood

How about being based on Fun With Dick and Jane (1977)?

reply

lol yeah. i was thinking the new dick and jane (2006) was based on this movie, but then i saw it was a remake

I wondered myself what "B&B" was based on, and it's safe to say that it's on all the mentioned movies mixed with our own inimitatable "desi" brand of humour.

SPOILER ALERT:

What made this movie stand out, was that I really liked the lead pair so you rooted for them throughout the movie even when they did get caught by Amitabh.

Speaking of which, at least the scene with the pair on the train w/ Amitabh didn't become overmelodramatic. Just enough tears and sighs to drive home the point that they messed up and realize the consequeces.

Formerly "Lehmunade"
