Why does this movie suck so bad?

How come this director can make something so good as Saathiya, and then turn around and make this crap? The writing was terrible in this movie. At the airport, why couldn't Rani turn off her cell phone or put it on silent after she made the call? And if she knew anything about what she was doing, she would never have made the call from a cell phone with a registered number (hello pay phone!) Also, these criminals seem to be notorious, they work in the finest of outfits and flair, they don't use any sort of masking disguise, so why can't someone describe them to the police?? Amitabh's character claims he devoted his life to finding them, yet he never bothered to ask what they look like? This movie had ALOT of big musical numbers (excellent soundtrack though) and alot of flash and style, but no meaning at all. This movie is suppose to be about their cons, yet we hardly see some good developped smart cons pulled off. Plus, they stretched it too far with the baby and all that. What a waste of money!
