Does anyone else think this movie looks like crap?

This movie looks like it was shot on hi-8 and lit by a freshman film student. The dialogue and the acting look terrible from the clips I've seen. Just too bad it's not terrible enough to the point of being entertaining.

First off, I'm not trolling, I'm simply stating my sincerest opinion of what I've seen of this film. I was appalled enough when I saw the trailer on apple that I had to say something here. That only means that I care. Second, a good camera does not good cinematography make. Everybody knows that. At which film festival exactly did it win best cinematography? Oh, and by the way, I would say the pros do agree with me, cause whichever "pro's" think this movie is actually good are probably not real pros.

It does look like crap.

In this case, please don't feed the trolls or the baby killers.

reply

Bleh.

If it's not trolls, then it's hanger-ons who either worked on the "film" or know somebody who did...

I just happened by here because I saw this was scheduled for DVD release later this year... We'll only get really honest assessments after that.

reply

??? So... you can't get honest assessments from somebody who saw it at the theater? Or any of the reviews?

reply

I think his point was that you can't get honest assessments from people involved with the movie, and I agree. Personally, I thought the movie looked OK but overall was crap. Black & White seemed appropriate, and the actors attractive enough; but the story, dialog, and acting I felt were poor.

Thought the same thing. To clean, no depth, overused fog machine. You can't light a blond for a black and white movie the same way you normally would or they lose texture. They should have done more homework. Can't believe they made a graphic novel based on this. Hell it looks better actually.

ya, i'm sure the multiple awards for cinematography, and all the great reviews (even the few bad reviews praised the film's look) are all bogus, right? lesson: judging a film you haven't even seen by watching a low-def compressed trailer on the internet makes you a jacka-s.
