How does Hancock earn a living?

Since he apparently doesn't have a regular job, how does Hancock afford to pay for the necessities of life?

He eats, and clearly drinks, a lot, so where does he get the $$ to pay for it?

I know he's been around for thousands of years and should have amassed a fortune in all that time, however, he appears to be living like a loser in a trailer in the middle of nowhere.

My only thinking is that he collects a bounty on the criminals he apprehends and blows most of that $$ on booze -- since he apparently doesn't steal for a living.
