I watched this the other day and was shocked when I released it wasn't at least up for a Best Visual Effects Oscar, the effects in this film was amazing for a 2007 film. I feel it could of also been nominated in Best Sound Editing/Mixing and for its original score, the 'surface of the sun' track was truly moving.
I agree. You're absolutely right. The original score I thought was one of the most beautiful pieces of music next to interstellar. It should have won an award. Visual effects were remarkable. I'm very disappointed in the choices for academy awards and Oscars for 2007.
shareI gave up on the idea that the Oscars were any real measure of quality a few years before, when they introduced Best Animated Film as a category and apparently couldn't find space for 'Waking Life' to be nominated, despite 'Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius' making the grade.
