WHERE ARE WEAVER's AWARDS! AWARDS SUCKS!

I hate when I see a such fantastic performance as it was from Sigourney Weaver in this movie and she didn't won any awards. Awards sucks! Are only for commercial movies. Oscar is a joke. In a year where Naomi Watts was nominated for Impossible, Jennifer Lawrence won for a *beep* movie. And now the only award that nominated Weaver was Genie Awards! WTF is Genie awards? and still she loose. And then I saw that Carrie Ann-Moss won for Supporting Role... you got be kidding me!!!! No way! I hate Awards!!!! They are nothing for a good performance!

Sigourney Weaver is an incredibly underrated actress. Every performance she gives is top-notch; Snow Cake included, of course.

Sigourney Weaver was absolutely marvellous in her role. Shame it was not recognised by the professional bodies.

I agree. Sigourney Weaver deserves an Oscar for her performance in Snow Cake. It must have been a very mentally demanding role to portray an autistic person in character, while off set getting back to her usual life. But that's what actors do: suspend their real lives for a moment and act! And she accomplished that in spades in this movie. It was a shame that the plot had to kill off the girl so early, because I'm sure she could play a very funny character opposite Rickman. Also a great shame that Rickman died in January this year.

How about if the girl hadn't been killed, but severly injured, then went through recovery in hospital for three months? Could that have been a possibility? All the other aspects of the movie could have pretty much stayed the same, with a slightly different ending. And if I'd been Alex I'd have got whatever needed to be sorted in Winnipeg done and dusted pretty smartish, then returned to Wawa and the very appealing Maggie.
