Why it didn't work for me...(spoilers)

...if you want people to care about whether a character fights and lives through a scary film, you've got to like the character enough to want them to win. That's why annoying characters are killed in horrors and the somewhat alright characters live.

The problem in this film, for me, was that right from the start, Holly was just as horrible as her first flat mate Jan to me....the way she talked about Jan behind her back, trying to out do her just as much as Jan was her, trying to trick Jan out of a promotion by using her boyfriend.

I know others might have liked her and thought Jan was worse....but in my view, Holly was pretty close in being as spiteful and horrible as Jan was. So frankly, I really didn't care if she was killed LOL And that kind of makes the whole film pointless.
