These women dress like hookers.

I`m watching this one right now on TV. Maybe it`s just me, but these girls all dress like street walkers. I thought that`s what they were in the very beginning, when the red head and her nasty first room mate were getting ready for that P.R. party. Do most big city professional women dress this way?
As I said, maybe it`s just me. I`m a bit more conservative. If I`m going to wear a cammy, I think a shawl or a little jacket should go over it.

reply

Haha, I just switched to this movie a few minutes ago on TV too... haven't seen the beginning yet. But I wasn't even aware they were in a reputable occupation by their outfits either, until I looked it up on imdb. I mean what kind of girl shows the top of her bra sticking out of her top ANYWHERE in public, especially at an office?

reply

Thank goodness! I`m not the only one who feels this way! I don`t consider myself a prude, but REALLY! These women look tacky! The wardrobe dept. on this film must have been some piggy little boys!

reply

I was greatly amused by the scene when the two girls, they didn't act mature enough to earn the name women, met the boss in the lobby of the big corporate building. With their spaghetti strap, low cut tops, they looked like they left the house without finishing dressing. A company party at the beach is the only place I could think those cami tops would be even remotely appropriate in a work environment. Not a regular work day in a job where they are supposedly competing for a vice president position.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.

reply

You are not alone thurber67. They definitely dressed as if they were ready for the streets. I thought for a second that I watching Pretty Woman. They did in fact go over the edge with their choice of clothing!

reply

Hey!What do you want? more loathy jeans as "decent women"?or are you gay?

THEY LOOK *beep* WOMEN NEVER LIKE MEN!!!!

reply

What does being gay have to do with anything? Is that a problem for you? I`m a 51 year old wife and mother! I also work outside my home. What they were wearing seemed inappropriate for the office. Now, if they worked in a sleezy bar or stood on the street corner, it would look just fine.
You obviously loved the "show."

reply

Then you like women like lesbian:jeans, tenis and more male fashion.
THAT´S THE NEW WORLD OUT OF LOGICAL!!

reply

You seem to have a fixation on sexuality. I doubt if you will ever understand just what my point is. When you are competing for the vice presidency of a corporation, you dress for respect. Nobody in the corporate world is going to take a woman seriously if she dresses as though she`s out for a night in the bars.
I hope this clears it up for you. If not, then I guess you`ll just never get it.

reply

I thought Kristen Miller and Brooke Burns looked really hot in this movie. Obviously it was intended as a male fantasy, not a realistic portrait of single career women.

reply

Ok......
One question...
Are you a man or a woman?
I have to agree that it was intended as a male fantasy. I'm just wondering how many males really watch LIFETIME MOVIES.
I'm a woman, and I found it ridiculous!

There nudity and then theres nudity recklessly put in for more money and to disguise *beep* directing. Im tired of these people saying someones a prude because they cant see the difference. And yes i agree, even the first one had some obvious "sex for attention" gimmcks added from the director, but this "sequel" was just pathetic. I cant wait until people grow up and stop obsessing over the human body. Got news for you fellow men out there, you dont need to drop your jaw and act like a drooling idiot because someone walks by in a miniskirt, have some god damn respect for yourself, and mostly her for christs sake. Guys these days are complete creeps from what ive seen.

reply

this movie was made directly to DVD before Lifetime showed it. it is the sequel to the first Single White Female movie. Lifetime probably censored some of the stuff out that was in the DVD.

reply

Yes I know all of that. I'm just saying that I just happened to see it one day on Lifetime (a few years ago by the way) and I was surprised to see that the first one even had a sequel.... a pretty sad one at that!
In any case, I was amused by the awful costumes..... carry on.

Fasten your seatbelts.... It's going to be a bumpy night!

reply

Yeah I was amazed that there was even a sequel and it was made 13 years after the original, which is odd. I saw this last night and have to say that Kristen Miller was definitely showing off her assets, and I'm not complaining lol. It's pretty much what I expected with modern direct to DVD sexy thrillers, dressing skanky.

Yeah, I was looking at the cammy our heroine wore to the office with the black bra straps showing and thought: "office wear"??

I'm in college, even I thought their outfits were a little ridiculous. I laughed and thought, "Wow, Imagine going to work in THAT?"

"Oh please. They did not dress like street hookers. I dress similarly to them except I only wear dresses. I'm college educated and own a small boutique, so take your ankle-length skirt, turtle neck wearing ass out of here.

Jealous, conservative, bitch!"

Well you certainly are charming.......

"Jealous, conservative, bitch!"

I assure you that I am not jealous. I don't even have a chip on my shoulder.

I simply watched a movie on tv a few years ago and I found this strange.
I may be out of step and I admit that I am not a college educated small boutique owner.......

If you are going out to the clubs I would imagine that this is a fun look.

You had better be a Conservative Bitch in the corporate world!

Keep telling yourself: THIS IS ONLY A MOVIE! A crummy one at that.....

Now go out there and WORK it Baby! Sell them RAGS!

If you have read this entire thread, you will see that I am not alone in my feelings on this subject.

I thought so, too. When I saw them on the curb by the taxi and they said they were going "to work" and were dressed like that. I like to dress to accentuate whatever assets I have, but there's a classy way, and then there's how they looked.

reply

Wanda and others,
Thank God I'm not the only one who saw this! In the beginning, when the girls were dressing for the party(?) I was kind of put off about what they were wearing. But when Holly went to her office dressed like that, I was shocked!
No one I know dresses like that for their job.
There is a big difference between dressing atractive and dressing like you'll put out in a bathroom stall.

reply

And thank you Sword.
I never have considered myself a prude. I may be just a bit out of step with the latest fashions but I do know what's appropriate in certain situations. This was just weird. It's nice to know I am not crazy and that others agree.

Fasten your seatbelts.... It's going to be a bumpy night!

reply

Apparently many more agree with you Wanda, like me, than disagree.
But we don't all run in the same circle.
I don't consider myself a prude either. I wore a mini cocktail dress to the last military dinner that my husband and I went to, but I didn't wear it to work the next day...
FOR WANDA! When you said something about the spagetti straps and wearing either a shawl or a mini jacket with it! The dress I wore had spagetti straps with a short waist jacket over it. You probably would love this dress.
Sorry to go off topic.
All in all, to each hers and his own.

I'm a blue collar guy and had a question about fashion sense concerning this show. If a woman has red hair, would she wear dark pink or red blouses like they do in this? It seems like they clashed with the hair to me. The green dress looked much better, I thought.
