Why the continued diversity casting with blacks?

I might understand diversity casting if it were done simply to make more money. I could understand why you might want to cast a minority simply to try and get a bigger audience. But why do they continually throw in the black or a diversity cast member? If money is the reason and they want to appeal to the greatest number of minorities then they should be throwing in a Hispanic actor when they want diversity casting... if they are just doing it because of some guilt over past discrimination then why are they not throwing in a mix of Hispanics, blacks, Asians and Native Americans with equal abandon? What drive the push to simply use blacks when they want diversity? Is it that Hollywood is showing just how racist they are in using blacks as they think they are the only actors that people will see as a minority? I just don't get it.

The Wizard Shazam was black in the new 52

But like I mentioned below, even without that adaption, there's nothing about the wizard that requires him to be white, unlike an Amish character, or the Storm siblings, etc.

Get your racist ass out of here please.

Oh snowflake, you don't like what someone says feel free to state your case as to why you disagree but don't expect people to slink away just because you learned how to call someone a racist. Personal attacks don't prove your point they only expose you for the snowflake you are, too ignorant to make an argument but childish enough to use words you don't even know the meaning of.

reply

Oh no! A black was in it?

Some of these characters, like Eugene Choi, were in the comics, where they were ethnic minorities.

And why wouldn't a foster home in Philadelphia have an ethnically diverse group of kids?

Besides which, despite the setting, the film was still predominantly white, by quite a large margin.

Because the heads of the major studios are Neo Liberals and appealing to Black identity- politics appeals to the Democratic party's narrative. The Democrats love the Black Community's vote, as we all know.

Because every day. LGBTQ, BLM and other groups work around the clock sending emails. Writing letters and on the phone demanding such thing's

They want a black or gay in every single movie
They want a black or gay shown on the screen within the first 10min of a movie.
They want a diversify of movies released throughout the year.

And if you dont comply they go on the attack trying to damage your business and family name.
My friend made a real low budget movie. And he was shocked at the amount of calls. why were there.no gays represented. why are there not more women.
Why is the main character a white male.

And they have huge groups of these people who dont work all day except do stuff like this.

And they are such a tiny percentage of the population. but damn do they yell loud

There was a hispanic actor in the movie actually, so your idea of "throwing them in" was used.

The reason for diversity casting is critics. If you want good scores with critics you do the "vogue" thing, such as shoehorned diversity.

As far as why blacks, well its simple if you take even a quick look at racial studies. Blacks are the opressed minority, hispanics are proto-whites (FBI even classifies them as white) and asians are only a minority when you can portray them as opressed, otherwise we pretend they dont exist.

I don't have an issue with casting any one race in particular, but when they are making a conscious effort to shoehorn in every race, gender, and sexual orientation for the sake of diversity, it is difficult to look past it. They definitely took diversity into account when casting for this movie as among the primary cast, white, black, asian, and latino was covered. Alo, this movie was true to Woke Doctrine in that all the villains were white males (Mark strong and the school bullies). Even though this was all very noticeable to me, I was still able to enjoy the movie to some degree.

reply

Yes, I can even enjoy a movie like the Wiz where they are clearing just doing an all black version of the Wizard of Oz... but it is the ridiculous assorted races that don't fit that makes me want to puke. Like the Fantastic Four were the twins are turned into an adoption so they can stick a black brother with a white sister... Those are the most outrageously stupid casting calls that make it impossible to even give the movie a chance.
