The suit cost $10 million.

And there's ten different suits.

do what?

It says each suit is 1 million, and there's ten. Truthfully, the only way that is possible is if someone is syphoning off a big piece under the guise of production cost. These are things they do to manipulate budget numbers for a variety of reasons, often relating to taxes. I've been involved in custom fabrications for various things, and worked side by side with costume designers and art production crews. The product I've seen simply doesn't justify the numbers, electronic components aside, lol. They're trying to say that lighting up the emblem and gauntlets is significantly difficult, and that's just silly. I will say, doing a custom anything is usually much harder and time consuming than people would believe, and time really adds up. But if you look at this suit objectively, it only has so many dollars of raw materials invested in it. Even if you total all 10 suits at $100k each in material cost, that's an entire MILLION dollars in wiring, plastic, cloth and various other components...for 10 costumes. That leaves 9 MILLION dollars for labor wages for the people to actually make them, so a little less than a million dollars in labor hours per suit. That sounds like bullshit to me.

Does the ten million cost include all the CGI used on the character's body?

reply

If it does, that's misleading. Now your talking about the special effects. You might as well say his gym membership needed bulk him up to fill out the suit are part of the cost, lol.
