I saw that segment before I actually saw the movie.
If memory serves, they never proved the existance of Pete. And some aspects of the film were fictionalized - Donna's blindness, Gabe's breaking into the house, etc.
Very interesting story, though.

Wow, so the fake blindness of Donna's was part of the artistic license on the filmmakers? Hmm, interesting.
But you don't have to recall the magazine show regarding Pete's existance never being proven. There's some text displayed at the end right before the credits roll that say that there was NEVER any conclusive proof that they boy existed, and it apparently all happened about 14 years ago, since that's how old "Pete" was in the film's timeframe and it said that he would be 28 years old as of today, if he was real.
Yea i seen the Second part of it....they actually found the boy she used the photo of...So there never was a "Pete"...Or if there was..it wasn't the one in the picture she used
