A COMPANION PIECE TO ONE HOUR PHOTO

I think of this movie as something of a companion piece to One Hour photo. The story is far more complicated than One hour photo. One hour photo was just a straight-horror-lonely man stalks a family, but night listener has alot more depth to it. Night listener is also similar to Play misty for me. 1. One hour photo-a lonely man lives in a fantasy world and becomes dangerous-Night listener-a lonley woman lives in a fantasy world and becomes dangerous (though unlike sy parrish, tony collete's character is actually borderline evil (remember the scene where she tries to kill Noone on the road). Sy parrish is just feeling lonely-whereas the woman in night listener is feeling lonely and seems to suffer from multiple personality disorder as well. 2. One hour photo-a man becomes obssesed with a family he barely knows-Night Listener-Tony Collete's character becomes obssessed with a man she barely knows (the only difference is that, unlike one hour photo, the stalking victim, Noone, seemingly becomes obssesed with Tony Collete's family as well. 3.One Hour photo-the main character is suffering from something horrible in his past-his family made he and his sister (Robin Willam's own backstory for his character) take part in pornography as children. Night Listener-Tony Collete's character leaves hints that she was forced to take part in pornography as a child, thus screwing her up for life as well. 4.both films star Robin Willams. 5.
