Any KoDT fans watch this?

I noticed a few influences. Cass and Gary killing NPC's when they are bored. Gary's use of "I waste him with my crossbow." and Joanna's fighter who isn't a fighter is much like Sara's barbarian who believed in talking over fighting. As well as just trying to roleplay vs hack.

Anyone agree/disagree?

I saw that as well. I was surprised that it didn't end in catastrophe.

Well, killing NPCs because they are bored is fairly common. At least, I've seen it happen a few times. Women often make better roleplayers than men, and as such, tend to roleplay more often, while a lot of male players are more into the hacking and slashing aspects. Which is not to say that there aren't excellent male roleplayers, or women that enjoy the hack-and-slash aspects. Mostly, this movie drew on stereotypes of gamers in general, as do other works, so it is very likely that these works would resemble each other.

Yeah I saw quite a bit of KODT in it.

Good call. I don't think this movie was made without some KoDT influence. A perfectly spoofed fanfilm.

What is KoDT?
If it is as funny as this movie I will have to see it.
Thanks

A comic strip called Knights of the Dinner Table. You can get it in trade paperback, it is painfully funny!

I think there was probably an influence particularly with "I waste him with my crossbow". However the humor of both the KOTDT strip and the movie, comes from the fact that the themes are pretty universal in D&D games. It's funny cause it's true. I like that they had the stereotypical idea that the girl valued Intelligence over Strength. Usually assumed to be that the girl doesn't get it. In this case though she actually knew exactly what she was doing and created a powerful character.

Sorry for the late reply but as was stated earlier, Kodt is a comic book about gaming. The panels are somewhat crudely drawn and mostly consist of 'talking heads' but the dialog is a lot like in this movie. Should be available at your local comic, hobby or book store or you can order direct from the publisher. Here's a link to the trade paperback collections.
