If only all movies were this good...

Just wanted to comment that I consider Elephant Shoes to be the kind of movie all film-makers should aspire to make.

I work at a video store, and I'm an amateur film-maker, and I've seen thousands of movies in my day. Most are so horrible that I can barely get past the 20 minute mark (that goes for 'oscar winning' garbage too).

Well, I put this dvd in just to waste time while I ate breakfast, and couldn't stop. This is one of the most exciting, realistic films I've ever seen.

When has the thrill of a first meeting been so perfectly captured on film? With barely any cuts, and no pathetic hollywood actors to muck it up, I felt like I was watching a real couple go through the pain of falling in love, and then realizing it wasn't meant to be.

For those that gave negative reviews, or a '1' out of 10 rating: maybe if you gave specific points in the film where you felt like they failed, I would understand . Or maybe if you referenced other films that tried to do the same thing, and did it better, I might know where you were coming from.

As it stands, it seems like those that didn't like it either didn't see the entire film, or just don't like drama. Like...real drama, the kind Tennesse Williams writes. The kind Aaron Sorkin writes.

Anyway, I'll be giving this to all my film-maker friends, so we can all get our asses in gear and TRY to write up to this level!

Oh gosh. I know! I loved how realistic their realationship was from the very beginning.

It's kind of an odd movie in the way that it's very unhollywood, But nonetheless I think it's one of the best movies ever made.
