What's with all the extras?

This is ridiculous. Why do all the extras in this movie seem to think they should be listed on this page? Good God, if extras were all listed on movie pages, I'd hate to see the Lord of the Rings page, or the Alexander page. While we're at it, why don't we list every person who has seen the movies too? Haha. I'm kidding, but seriously, I think these extras are a little too caught up in the thrill of being in a movie. Congratulations and all, but come on! People who played main characters like Alex House, Nic Ouellette, Matt Gordon, Chas Lawther and Derek McGrath aren't even listed yet, and "English Student" is? Something's wrong here.

I totally agree man Alex House deserves to be known since he was jsut more then an extra

The reason there are so many extras is this movie was filmed in the city i live in , winnipeg, and theres a large amount of people in winnipeg who use IMDB, so if they were part of the movie, in anyway they add themselves. which is fine, if i was in a movie even for a second id put my self up there, it doesnt affect you lol so chill out

Well that's what the "uncredited" option is for. So that way the extras (if they feel so compelled to add themselves) aren't listed on the main page. It just really clutters up the cast list when there are a bunch of randoms included. I like to be able to look at a movie and, at a glance, see who was in it, not have to wade through all the "English students" to find Ryan Pinkston, for instance, (the main character) at the bottom.

Having said that, I'm not diminishing the work extras do. They work hard. They get paid crap, have awful working conditions and very little respect on set. So I DO think they deserve recognition.... Recognition in the form of a name listed right next to the actors? I'm not so sure. It's really not difficult to get extra work in Winnipeg, fill out an application and send a headshot and resume to Keri Casting or Next Casting and you're all set. Getting a part is quite a different matter, and so trying to pass yourself off as a member of the cast because you filled out an application and were the right age and look seems like a bit of misrepresentation, and takes away from the work the actors do.

Give the extras their due. I agree. But don't try to pass off an extra as a cast member. PAs aren't listed next to the director, extras shouldn't be listed alongside cast.

Listing yourself under "credited cast" if you worked as an extra is dishonest, self-indulgent, and just plain incorrect.

Don't worry, I have a feeling this will be cleaned up closer to release---they're still listing all the cast in alphabetical order, after all, and that's rarely done for credits in American films.

That's true. I know it will fix itself when New Line itself releases info on the movie. I'm more so complaining about the CONCEPT and not the actuality. But I've done enough complaining on this issue for one lifetime, I think I'm good for now.

Your right they should be put as uncredited, but still put on here, and some of them, for instance, Maia Schor, actually has a line, and as she has a speaking role, she should be listed under cast.

Well absolutely. As soon as you deliver a line you are no longer an extra and everything is completely different; you're treated differently, paid RADICALLY differently, you eat different food, and more importantly, you're credited! So if Maia Schor had a part, by all means she should be credited, just like everyone else in the cast.

This movie was actually filmed in the school i'm going to right now. If they haven't released any footage, lets just say "Go Awesome Possums!"

You have some nerve calling yourself an amazing actor when last time I checked actors respected each other. And another thing many people are afraid of dogs and maybe matt himself has a phobia, would you make fun of someone who had the inate fear of everything like Howard Huges. Besides im a good friend of matt and he has dog allergies and I can see why he wouldnt want a dog up in his face. I mean the kid could die if he breathed the toxic hairs of the canien variety. You know what I think you posted something like that because Matt intimidates you and you are scared that hes going to make it farther in the movie bussiness then you ever will. Dont worrie though Im a nice person so Ill throw you a couple bucks when I see you lying on the street holding a sign that says, "Care to help a failed thespian?" But can you care to tell the fine people of this forum why being afraid (if he was afraid) of a dog, affects your acting ability?

OMG,I'm so sorry Matt, my older brother is such an A-hole, man i must have left my account logged in when I went to my friend's party,here he is posing as me and saying all this crap, I mean what an f douche he should die for what he said. I was typing that post on here and he must have changed some things around..alot of things!!!

1) He said that I want to be this amazing actor..what a dumb idiot because I have 0% interest in becoming one, I am actually a back-up drummer for my friend Mike's band.

2)He said that you were afraid of dogs!?,Dam I told him you had dog allergies but I did not say you were afraid of them.

3) Last of all...I would like to say that I am truly sorry and very sorry for anything else he had said while I was gone...and that my stupid bro has a huge black eye lol and very sorry that I left my account logged in, I congratulate you for making it as an actor and wish you the best in the movie biz. Man,I wish I would have seen the actual post so I could beat the living hell out of him more, GOD dam I h8 him so much. I wish i could tell you this face 2 face but I have no clue where you live, All I know is you could be living it up in L.A right now or your living in Winnipeg for now.

I know you don't remember me because I met you for the first time about 5 yrs ago and haven't seen you since.

Sorry if I have caused anyone to release anger upon me because this would have nvr happened if i would have logged out... and hey we all make mistakes but this one was a biggie and I apologize. I feel like a pile of poo (you know what I mean.)
