Its funny that I bought this movie only because it was on sale and based on the DVD cover which sucked I wasnt expecting much, so I just kept the film in my closet for months. I finally decided to check it out and wow I was impressed.
Loved the visual style, the pacing, the pauses, it really kept me on the edge of the bed.
I am surprised I never heard anything about this film or maybe it didnt get the attention it deserved in the US but I am very glad I watched and is now going on my top 20 horror flicks.

Was bored tonight and there was not really much on so I scanned through the Sky Movies channels and found this... Started watching it and well I am pretty impressed. It was a good watch!! Just goes to show that you don't need millions of dollars/pounds to make a decent flick.

Worth a watch without a doubt.

Funnily enough I watched it last night for the same reason

It did a good job of ramping up the tension with very little to work with but didnt really deliver the pay off, and the mutated calf at the end seemed a little underwhelming

It shows that a large budget and a Dawson Creek cast isnt needed to make a modern horror film.

I just watched it and it reminded me of nothing so much as the drek that's churned out by the SciFi Channel. Nothing particularly good about this at all.

I've just got to today, watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. Sure, the concept of mutant cow feotuses may seem pretty silly, but if it had been something more close to reality then I don't think it would have been as thrilling.

The acting was fantastic, the lighting and camera angles were great. The effects were also superb. I was expecting a lot of grubby CGI but was pleasantly surprised by the animatronics.

I agree with you. During a few scenes, I had to actaully take a break and collect my thoughts. And that happens very rarely when watching a movie. All this Carpenter stuff is silly. This atmosphere was THE whole movie for me. The Thing was about micro-organism from space. This was about DNA experments gone wrong, which I believe truly happens in the real world.

I thought the movie started out well, but collapsed into the formulaic "find the creature and kill it" mentality into which so many promising horror films find themselves. I did, however, jump a few times, which is always a plus for scary movies in my book. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the best movie I've seen lately.

I was disappointed in how the movie turned out in the end, but overall it was one of the most queasy movie experiences I've had. Thank goodness I didn't eat while watching it.

Yes, it's a shame the ending does not deliver, the monster s not particularly scary. Still, the acting, directing, SFX and the music were very good.

I agree that this is one of the nice pleasant surprises and a really nice little gem of a Sci-fi/horror/thriller film.
