Any other movies suffering from Schizophrenia? (spoilers?)

This is the first movie I've seen, I think, where the movie is schizophrenic. It starts out very well. Good story and character developement, really good acting, great atmosphere. It really appears to be building up to something and then?
It turns into a very, very poorly done ripoff of Alien. What?
How could they make such a good movie and then just trash it seemingly on purpose? What a waste! I was shocked by the 'monster' and 'special effects' or lack thereof. It completely ruined what I thought was going to be at least a 9/10 movie. Unbelievable. Still scratching my head the day after watching it. Who decided to throw in the shredded fish and cow parts? And then to top it off, a typical Hollywood horror ending. It makes me think someone brilliant started this movie, was fired and then an idiot was hired to finished it. It staggers the mind.
Right off hand I can't remember another movie that has been done this way.
Can you?

From Dusk Till Dawn could enter into the 'schizophrenic' category, I think. Starting with the whole crime thing before turning into a ridiculous mock horror shazam with vampires and stuff. Whether that's necessarily a bad thing in this case is open to opinion. I've seen Isolation, albeit quite a while ago now, and I agree to a certain extent with what you say. It definately starts stronger than the ending, but in my opinion the start's still a bit crap. It's just really, really boring, and slow, and takes itself faaaaar too seriously (a bit of humour is always nice - some morbid, black comedy in this case would of greatly improved the film).

From Dusk Till Dawn starts brilliantly - murderers on the run, kidnapping, juliette lewis! - classic Tarantino! - but in the end, it turns in to a bit of a joke (which of course it's supposed to be, I know, before the angry replies start coming). I shall admit, though, it is entertaining to a certain extent. Unlike Isolation...

There's my example of a schizophrenic film, but maybe not in the sense you meant :)

Yes, FDTD was an excellent schizo movie, proving it can be done. :-)

The term "schizophrenic" doesn't apply to anything you're talking about. Don't just throw around psychiatric terms without knowing what they mean.

By all means, let's be more accurate and precise when talking about b grade indi horror flicks. Otherwise you might come across as a troll or just a pretentious jerk.

If I understand the way you use Schizophrenic... there<s 3 movies that come to my mind:
1 - From Dusk Til Dawn: everybody movie buff knows about this one.
2 - Perkin<s 14: Surprise me! Start with a dark thriller that turn around a serial killer and end... !
3 - The cottage: a mix of genre that caught my attention in a period of my life that I feel kinda jaded about movies!

EDIT: I just read the synopsis of Perkin<s 14!!! lolll What surprise me was in the description :P IF you did NOT read the synopsis yet, DONT READ IT! I didn<t do, did not even read the tagline, I just liked the look of the cover and got a surprise! I think this better that way!!!!
