disturbing....

I don't care if this is supposed to be an art film or whatever, I do not like the whole idea of lovers eating each other's flesh like sushi. It makes my skin crawl, and the whole look of the movie just freaks me out.

reply

I tried to find me a pirated copy, and somebody had renamed a gay porn. if you think flesh eating lovers is disturbing, you've probably never had to witness an orgy of guys "feltching" each other.

reply

Trust me, try seeing the movie. And it'll be waaaaaaaaay more disturbing....
I can't believe I actually payed to see this...

reply

i liked the movie. you can skim through the flesh eating parts. the movie is actually really great.

ps- usually movies are 700mb+. gay porn clips are like what 100mb? you're a fool for downloading renamed gay porn. learn to harness teh intarnets. duh! ;p

The Tantilizingly Tasteful Treat - Tedious Toad!

reply

this movie is way less disturbing than so many things out there. and if you didnt notice, they were not people. they were whales, so they are sushi :)

reply

What movie did you watch?!!

Spoilers ahead:

I saw it back in february but I still got it sticked to my mind and I can´t recall the two gests eating each other´s flesh!!!!!
They just got rid of their human cover and transform themeselves into whales (they didn´t even bleed).

reply

They bled in the version I saw. That is why the water was that colour!

reply

Its not actually water they're swimming in, its the whale blubber they harvest earlier in the film, leaking around the ship. And they don't eat each other they just cut off their flesh and turn into weird whale-people. What an awesome movie.

reply

Okay...I haven't even seen this movie. I'm too afraid to. The trailer alone makes it look creepier than any horror film ever made, and it's not even supposed to be a horror film!

reply

Where are you guys able to find copies of this movie?

"This is the age of martyrdom"

reply

I saw it and rest assured, it's as creepy and disturbing as anything I've ever seen, and I've seen alot!

It's an art film/independent film in the truest sense.

reply

I just seen this movie in Moscow and has long talk with Matthew Barney few hours ago.Matthew now in Moscow for a week with all of his movies.
But...boys...I spend two and half hours for what ? This is movie or just bunch of photos ?

reply

I have to say that this movie has put a huge dent in my memory, if someone says some movie is crappy or disturbing, then I tell them "oh you haven't seen drawing restraint 9".

I went to see it with a few of my friends and first of all, YOU DON'T HAVE TO RUN THE CAMERA THE ENTIRE TIME IT TAKES TO MAKE TEA. I don't know if it was symbolism or what but that was the point that we couldn't stand it anymore.

Then when they started cutting each other up, what the hell was the point of that? So the tea turned them into whales? I have seen so pretty f^&ked up movies before, but this one takes the whale blubber cake! I mean a year ago i was nervous to watch the Saw movies or Hostel cuz i heard they were extremely disturbing. Now i watched those and couldn't understand what was so bad. After DR9 I was able to sit thru a scene where a woman got her eye melted off with a blow torch.

And whats with the title...you know, this movie doesn't deserve me going this deep into it so i'm gonna stop here!

reply

If you actually started seeing further than that, you would find it fascinating.

Seriously, if you are the type of guy that goes to see the Saw movies, then what were you doing watching this?? go and watch something that you can actually understand o_O no offence.

reply

What's to understand about this movie?

Watch this, it's hilarious

This is a song about vegetables, they keep you regular, they're real good for you

I really liked the film (to a certain extent)... And also I didn't find the 'eating each other' part particularly disturbing taken in the context of the film - it simply felt like what they had to do at the time.

I guess that's just me. A lot of people I talked to afterwards didn't like that part.

Also, with regard to the ritual of the making of the tea, I really enjoyed watching everything in detail.

Anyways.

reply

I guess i didn't know what to expect from it. Some friends of mine asked me to go and they promised it would be good... they hated it too

reply

I quite liked the film. Although I thought it was maybe an hour too long.

I didn't care that most of it didn't seem to make much sense to me, it looked beautiful.

And yes, they do eat each other's flesh.

reply

you find hostel and saw disturbing? i like both series and i wasnt really discussed or disturbed, i even laughed a couple of times.oh and i liked drawinfg restraint 9, its very uncoventional and very artistic.
