The Color of Money.

The old fella comes back to teach not play, then gets the itch to teach a lesson to the young kid. Sound familiar? Paul Newman and Tom Cruise like 20 some years ago.

This is exactly the reaction I had when I first saw this last night, and I was just waiting for Fast Eddie to turn up. Except "The Colour of Money" was good. This was not, and I saw the ending coming twenty minutes before it happened.

Truly junk.

I felt that it was very much in the vein of The Color of Money - however, I believe that this film points out a huge fault in the Color of Money.

We never see Fast Eddie and Tom Cruise "duke it out." The whole movie builds up to it and then just stops. While the duel in Deal was not the greatest, it allowed for further character development and conclusion - The Color of Money lacked this.

That was my reaction as well

There's nothing but testosterone, sweat, and desperation at the ten yard line

It was basically Boogie Nights-lite with poker, but I had fun seeing Burt play a sage, once again.
