I was looking up Hunter's background and was kind of shocked that he does not have any experience in either history, archaeology or anthropology. I would think that a show that is based mostly on archaeology and what it uncovers would want someone with base knowledge in it. At least Josh had a degree in anthropology. I know they are trying to go for the sexy factor with their hosts but I would like someone who at least has an idea about the field.

Maybe because Im an archaeology major right now I feel this way or maybe its because I just dont really care for the new host either. I find him boring

All true, but he looks good with his shirt off, and that makes up for his lack of experience.

No, it doesn't. It was precisely Josh's experience and enthusiam for the subject matter that made the show what it was. Yes, Josh is very nice to look at. But if he didn't have the brains and the heart to back it up, I do not believe the show would have been nearly as popular as it was with Josh at the helm.
