I don't think the two can be compared although there are some strong similarities.
In all fairness, 12 episodes gives the writer/director a lot more space and freedom to express himself and the world he created. It also means that he's able to give the audience time to take in the characters and the strange twists of plot. Trying to exhibit a similar 'parallel universe' in just 120 minutes is a tall order indeed. At times, Storm feels almost claustrophobic - that's actually a good thing because it makes the film seem more intense.
De drabbade was love at first sight for me. Storm was like having great sex but not quite getting the big O.
