Yes, the movie was quite sprawling. I find the best parts were the beginning and the end, when you at least thought you knew what it was about.
The only thing that was really good was the scene with the bullying in the end. It made me feel sorry for all the children (and adults) that have experienced it. It touched me.
Here I am replying to this ten years later and I have to say that scene really hit me hard also! I guess we have all seen or experienced bullying from every angle in this world so it can be a universal thing. I got the idea that that experience of that incident and the horrible result was haunting and driving the main character mad to a degree with guilt that played out in what he went through. I guess that is my take on things. Maybe ten years from now you can reply. ;) Cheers!
