Thoughts about this movie *Spoilers* / Most beautiful short scene ever

I just watched this movie, and it was so moving (even for a guy), that I decided to think a bit about it and read the thoughts of the others here.

*here comes the complicated part. I hope you understand what I mean, but I am not sure if I can be clearer even on my own (quite different) language*

I see that the main question here is "If Sam did come back or not". Well I am pretty sure she did. The handwriting everybody mentions is referring to what the professor in the first part of the movie about the case in those villages. He said something like "Then in some time she recovered, but still retained the other girl's habits" (or something like this). Sam did return, but she kept some parts of her mother. This is beautiful, isn't it? They finally got closer to each other.

But there was this moment that really stroke me and I had to watch it a few more times. It is when they were in the store and they were having this fight about her counselor being in DD's office. Then they stopped and she asks him about "why he is not able to have sex with his own wife, while realizing she is in front of him", and he answers because she is 6 feet under the ground After this moment she makes a slight try to kiss him. It is barely noticeable and I found it really, REALLY beautiful. I can say, that for me this is the shortest most beautiful scene I've seen in ages (if not ever).

This young actress has a big talent. I can't wait seeing more of her acting.

I totally agree with you. People are comparing this movie to freaky friday which really was a shallow movie by comparison. Makes you think about the people and their relationships. DD also said something to the effect that Sam will come back and Hannah asks where she is suppose to go.... We all know but they don't talk about it. I like the tape that Hannah did for Sam. The tape made the whole movie beautiful almost like Hannah wasn't ready to die yet and was so despirate to know her daughter Sam that Sam allow this change to happen for Hannah to experience a little more life just to get to know Sam. Wonder how the story really ended ie did Hannah come back for another days life as Sam but as Hannah!!!

I watched the movie twice and caught that on the second viewing. Although I don't entirely undertand it; I would think Hannah would have been upset after Ben tells her that? Hmm guess I didn't get it.

I completely agree, Olivia gives a very impressive performance here.

I believe Ben said, "Because my wife's BODY is six feet under...."

This is a small point, but the woman from the village actually continued living the other girl's life. The professor said, "In some time, she recovered, but she continued living the girl's life." It's unclear if he just meant she "recovered," as in she stopped trying to convince everyone that she was someone else, or that the girl actually came back into her own body. That's left ambiguous, I think.
