Ketamine trip (SPOILER)

The part when she looks up and sees the sky and snow is falling on her seems really familiar. Does anyone know where I might be remembering this from?

reply

It's not snow, but there is a fairly similar scene in American Beauty with rose petals.

reply

It wasn't snow? What was it then?

And yes, I remember the American beauty scene, but I keep thinking there was another movie with the actual ceiling showing the sky like in The Secret.

Thanks for the reply.

reply

No no, I meant the scene in American Beauty wasn't snow, sorry for the confusion.

reply

Oh, no problem. Thanks for the reply. :)

reply

Actually it wasn't snow in this movie either. Let me clarify, the directors may have MEANT for it to be snow, but just pay more attention to it and it obviously is not. Sorta looks like little cut out pieces of paper or tiny pieces of cotton or something.

It made me think of the scene in "Interview with a Vampire" when the two girls are locked in the tower and the sun starts to come in and ends up burning them to a crisp.

It's funny that they used Ketamine, that drug is bizzare (being a dis-assosiative) I've seen it get ride of migrains for a few months and apparently it can make anti-depressents work fast (according to popular science, I belive that was the source) as well as curing other things like general anxiety.......bizzar drug that they should look more into on studying in humans....

reply

Ketamine is a popular date rape drug. Ketamine Hydrochloride is known as Special K, Super K, Make her mine, Ket Kat, Vitamin K and KO (knock out) and is an animal sedative/anesthesia. Effects include hallucinations, confusion, vertigo, delirium, amnesia, delayed reaction, slurred speech, ataxia, and respiratory depression.

reply

Ketamine doesn't necessarily cause those side effects. It really depends on the person/dose/other factors. I was given it in Hospital to help Subdue severe anxiety and it did nothing for me. I didn't experience any of those side effects. If anything it only made me more awake and heightened my anxiety. The only thing it did cause was it threw my center of gravity off and I couldn't stay balanced.

reply

There is a comparable scene in the movie Weirdsville after a character took some drugs, but I doubt you've seen it.

Was it the movie "Lovely Bones"?

reply

It was LSD i presume which also causes dissociative anesthesia.

reply

LSD helps you see into other dimensions. Oh but wait that isn't medical science! Oops!
