It's the HK version of the POWER RANGERS

The scripting is appalling (unnecessary swearing, horrendously tacky expressions) and the acting (so bland and overatly over-dramatic) is poor. The audience has no problems predicting what happens in the next half hour of the film. Nothing really redeems this film. Film makers in HK must realise that there are better ways to create a film other than lots of foreign actors and weaponary. In comparison to Infernal Affairs, this film is a complete joke. This film falls into the category of stereotypical HK action flick (really poor reasons for conflicts, situations of avenging a dead brother and foreign actors regurgitating from abland script). There's time better spent watching other films such as *cough cough* Infernal Affairs.

And also to mention that the good guys never die except for that chick. And when thye get injured like a mofo they miraculously recover. It doesn't even flippin' show them recovering!

It's a fricken action movie not a documentary. If you want to see people recovering from bullet wounds, go down to the hospital.

This is a gun-fu movie, meant to provide entertainment, not thought provoking political messages. Infernal Affairs is a plot driven character drama. Dragon Squad is an explosive and frantic action movie. Infernal Affairs you watch to see how smart the plot unfolds and how well the actors perform. Dragon Squad you watch to see how the action director set up the shootouts and how the editor presented the final product. Acting and story comes in at 4-th or 5-th place as long as the action delivers... and it does... if your attention span is longer than 50 seconds...

This is HK action at its best. A very basic story and a lot of action, little room for character exposition, as it is a moot point in any action movie and a lot of well choregraphed gun-fu action scenes, strewn throughout.

American action movies always drag along as they feel the obsessive compulsive need to show a story along the action. When will they understand, that action movie fans need action not a long and ridiculous story. 99% of all action movies have ridiculous stories and what makes them suck is that they allow too much time for it. This is where Dragon Squad exceeds, it has a bad story, just like 99% of all movies (and especially action movies) has but it shows only what is needed then delivers the solid action.

Enjoy

So Michael Biehn's career is heading further down the toilet? I was actually looking forward to this this time last year.

Drive George, drive! This one's got a coat hanger!

Uhh, yeah just like Power Rangers huh?
This and Sha Po Long were the only good things to come out of Hong Kong in 2005.
Personally i don't think it ever set out to win awards, just kick a little ass.
damn.

The HK version of the Power Rangers? Really? Weird, where were all the big dinosaur mecha or whatever they called them? It was a pretty bad movie IMO(though I'd like to point out I was watching it when I was trying to fall asleep so I wasn't that into it to begin with.) May be i'll give it a second chance later on, but that's a longshot. The one good thing about this movie was the sniper vs. sniper aspect of the film. Reminds me of Enemy at the Gates. The major gun battle where Ko and Petros are trapped was laughable, like most fire fights in any action flick. Why do I say that? Come on, you have five highly trained professionals of all types of backgrounds. You're talking about SAS, SWAT and various police agencies. And you're telling me that they can't hit a target a few yards away? I don't know, I guess i'm knitpicking, but watching unrealistic scenes like that turn me off about most action movies.

It was a dissapointing movie, but at least it had Sammo and Bey Logan in it.

Also the fact that none of the good guys even get hit by the globe's top assassins or whatever is a bit unrealistic.

But cmon! This is a movie! I don't see people complaining that tonnes of Hollywood action movies are fake too...
