$50 says Beihn dies in this...

Why? Because the poor bastard is always getting killed off.

reply

You'll probably win the bet, as Biehn is the antagonist/villian. But maybe there is some hope just in case the film does well at the HK box office and there is talk of a sequel. His character, Petros Davinci, is the head of a terrorist/gangster group, so maybe only some members of the gang will be killed. Believe or not, he only dies in about 40% of the movies he's in, but that's still too high for me.

Really? It feels like more.
Anyway, when he dies in this lets hope he goes down in the blaze of bloody glory.

You can bet on that! He always has great death scenes, except when he's killed off in between sequels as in Alien3. I hope he doesn't get killed, but the odds are against it.

reply

His death in The Rock was awesome!

His death in Alien 3 (Even though the movie itself is greatness IMO) sucked ass.

reply

[deleted]

Actually in Aliens 3 he is not part of the movie.
In C&C Tiberium Sun VG as Commander Michael McNeil he did survive but in the expansion Firestorm he dies in the beginning following the Kodiak crash (in the novel Tiberium Wars he revives but yet it is not implied how he survived)

YES Michael Biehn dies a lot his best death scenes were the Rock and that movie.

reply

[deleted]

I have watched the movie over the weekend. What a blast! Anyway, to answer the question of whether he survives, it can be either way - I think. Depending on whether a sequel will be made...

reply

That's what I think too. He's as seriously injured as Vanness and Vanness survives, so why can't he?

reply

Ah, so another ambiguous ending with Dragon Squad and whether Michael Biehn's character lives or dies. I can only assume that if Dragon Squad is a hit in HK and the rest of Asia, then maybe there will be a sequel and Petros will have a miraculous recovery. If not, that's the end of it. The other danger as in Aliens to Alien3, the storyline could drastically change and a new set of actors might be involved. From what the reviews have said though the bad guys, Petros Davinci's squad is much more exciting than the Interpol team. Very interesting!

reply

Sorry guys, its just the films ive seen of MB he dies.
Oh and aliens he lives but dies in the nxt part mmm?

Thanks for the update, Kaze22. Did you see it in the theatre or on DVD? I'm still waiting for the film's release in the US, either in theatres or on DVD.

Here's the tally I get: 8 - don't know, 18 - dies,30 - lives

So, in 18/56 he dies = 32%, and in 8/56 = 14% either it's unclear whether he lives or dies as in Timebomb or I haven't seen that film/show, so I don't know. Even in the worst case, where if all the purples turned to red, the mortality percentage would be 46%, which still is a little under half.

He doesn't die in Megiddo Code.

Give me some popcorn, a good action flick, and I'm all set.

reply

Sorry to disagree, MrsPadfoot, but to get through Armageddon, the battle at the end of the world as shown in Megiddo:Omega Code 2, and go to Heaven, you must die first. So Biehn's character, President David Alexander goes through death, then the rapture, and then to Heaven, then be reborn to live in Heaven on Earth, and he must die first to do that.

reply

[deleted]

He wasn't decapitated in A3. He was impailed by a...Get ready for it...SAFETY beam. Damn the Colonial Marine Corps. makes some good safety stuff.

Must make 'em out of iron{y}.

reply

[deleted]

In T2 he's in a dream and not dying, so basicly he lives there.

reply

Because he was already dead ;)

I have no problem with Michael Biehn dies on the big screen as long as his deathscene is as good as it was in The Rock.

Of course that they killed him off before Alien 3 was the worst mistake fox ever did. The Alien franchise had been much better with Cpl Hicks in more movies.

reply

For all we know Hicks could have been cloned. It would actually make good sense for a DNA sample of each marine to be stored somewhere, just in case they turn out to be some sort of super soldier, then they can make loads of them. How about clones of Vasquez to :D

reply

Well definitely in terms of his BIGGER movies (Terminator, Tombstone, Aliens, etc.) he dies almost always. His more obscure ones he lives, but nobody really sees those so they get the feeling that he always dies...

reply

whats funny is how many of the same movies Michael Biehn and Bill Paxton were in together (Abyss, Aliens, Navy Seals, tombstone, terminator...ect ect) and Bill Paxton turned into a huge star...and Michael Biehn hasnt been seen on the silver screen since The Rock

why isnt this guy more famous?

i think Biehn's in need for a Quentin Tarantino career revival.

reply

Bill Paxton wasn't in the Abyss and Michael has but not the main role he is a supporting actor in almost every movie he is in and his performances are awesome and he still hasn't got the recognition he deserves

reply

herodreamer79 - Michael Biehn has been seen on the silver screen in "The Art of War"(2000) and in "Clockstoppers"(2002). Though he's been in two short lived TV series since then, he hasn't had anything on American screens since Clockstoppers. I hope that Dragon Squad is released in theatres in the U.S. I assume it will be if it is a hit in Asia. Kung Fu Hustle started out as a theatrical release in Asia, then went to the U.S. to selected theatres, and now is in dvd, so it is possible. And I get the feeling that Biehn as the villain Petros DiVinci, dies in this movie, too.

reply

It's really hard going watching any dying scene from one of my favorite actors. I normally fast forward those scenes... try watching The Ride instead for some heartwarming moments

reply

Name one film that his actually survided i bet you cant.

reply

[deleted]

You bet wrong...see the list above compiled by Suzy_Knows and myself and you'll find that he only dies about 40% of the time. Here's a short list of movies where he survives - Clockstoppers, Deep Red, Havoc, Lords of Discipline, Aliens, Dead Men Can't Dance. Apparently, he goes out in a blaze of glory and gunfire in Dragon Squad, but he is the antagonist, so what else should one expect. The bad guy has gotta die, right? Even if he is charismatic, charming, and good looking.
