A question

I watch this show and I really enjoy it. I think it's interesting, and I love her narrative. Now, I'm a second-generation German American and I've had a very strong Bavarian upbringing. My dad was watching the episode when she was in Germany (I think it was around Oktoberfest) and he was making several little comments about the things she did: like, when she ordered a Weisswurst she asked for a bun (which are not served with wursts) and I guess didn't understand at first that you do not eat the skin of the Weisswurst, as well as the whole "guy pinches lady server's butt" thing .
I don't want to be degrading her or anything because I LOVE Samantha, but I was wondering if anyone else does this? Like, Irish families make little comments or additions when she's in Ireland, French families when she's in France...because I was a little embarrassed when my dad was sitting in front of our TV doing that.

I came on here to post about this same episode. Since your topic is close to what I wanted to say, I'll reply here instead.

Yes, I watched this episode and did the same thing. I noticed plenty of errors and told my wife at each of them.

Their map up Bavaria showed it being the entire southern part of Germany. They failed to realize that the western half of what they showed as Bavaria is really Baden Württemburg, a different state.

I may have missed if she explained this, but the German people call the state Bayern, not Bavaria.

She pronounced many words incorrectly. Like Mittenwald should end with a T sound, not a D sound. She did get it right that the w in Mittenwald sounds like a V, so she is trying to speak correctly. Guten Tag should end with a K sound, not a G sound. The first e in Lederhosen sounds like a long A, not a long E. The second e in Schweinebraten sounds like a short A sound, not a Y sound. But she got the Schw part correct.

She made a point of saying that having your house painted with a fresco is like parking a Mercedes Benz in your driveway. While not an error, a better example might have been a BMW, since BMW is made in made in Bavaria (the B in BMW stands for Bayern) whereas the Mercedes is made in Stuttgart which is in Baden Württemburg.

All these errors make me wonder how much of what she tells us about other areas that I am not familiar with is incorrect.
