The Reporter Hostage Ep - No flashbangs??

Did anyone else think it was completely retarded that they storm a small building to rescue the journalist without using any kind of stun device?? I know there are a LOT of flaws and ridiculous moments throughout the series but this struck me as one of the most idiotic.

Of course he'll be killed if you just kick the door down, and considering the PR surrounding the situation it's even more unrealistic it would be resolved this way. (And from a viewers perpective, i'm ignoring the fact that it'd probably be a more elite unit taking on a mission of that kind anyway like deltas, marines etc.)
