Sally Hawkins

Having loved Tipping the Velvet, Fingermsith and Little Britain (of course) i just thought i'd say how amazing Sally Hawkins is at playing completely different characters.
From a put upon yet devious maid to a thief with a heart of gold and now a shy, almost reclusive young woman with a belief in the respectable (despite the hard times she lives in), she is always entertaining to watch. Her eyes are incredibly expressive, almost mesmerising.

I think she's fab, (although if i had one word of advice i would say not to go with the bob cut!) and i look forward to seeing her again on the BBC.

Come on Bob! Kiss the girl!

She's wonderful, reminds me of a young PJ Harvey

You are so right, Heligena! She's a great actress. One of my favourites and she's a great character in this.

I just saw her part in 20,000 streets last night and her story out of the three was the best. What a joy she is to watch. She's such a great actress.

Her story was definitely the best of the three. I loved how restrained she was in some places. Ella seems so prim and proper, yet you know in her head she's thinking "I want Bob in my bed- NOW!!!". (Can't say I blame her, he's a hottie!)

I actually bought the DVD from amazon.uk (I have an all-region DVD player). I can't wait. I have the book coming, too...

Is she gay? She has done two VERY lesbian movies I have looked for if she is married and I can't find anything. Does anyone know?

reply

Does it really matter if she is or not?

I thought her story was the best of the three, too. And what a superb performance. Incredible.

wonderful performance. Totally worth the Blu-Ray!

In this mini-series Sally Hawkins did the best unrequited love I've *ever* seen.
And of course Bob's love for Jenny is also unrequited.
