Good, but...


I was really hoping to see post-release interviews with the prosecutors and judge who denied the 3rd trial based on the DNA. I would have loved to hear what they had to say, if they now admit that they were flat out wrong, or how they're still rationalizing their decisions/opinions.

I also found it interesting the number of similarities between "A Time To Kill" and this trial. Besides the obvious, the most striking similarity had to be between Jake Brigance's closing arguments and the second prosecutors closing arguments. Both tried to play on the emotions of the jurors by trying to get them to "asociate" with the victim and what they went through on that day, rather than presenting arguments with actual facts.

As I recall, the original prosecutor said he was a Democrat and that he lost 98% of the black vote because of it (black people vote roughly 90% Democrat). Racism in the south is pretty bipartisan. I recall seeing a lot of interviews with southern Democrats saying it was the first time they'd vote Republican when Obama was running.
