Is the real Pierre Dulaine gay??

Just took this movie out of the library...haven't seen it before a few years ago (I like this movie, in particular, the music), and decided to do the the documentaries on the disc....

despite several liberties taken to make a movie (he taught 5th graders, not high schoolers), one of the biggies was the real Pierre's very feminine persona...the movie shows Pierre as someone who lost his wife 5 years ago and can probably make ANY woman drop the panties, but the real Pierre in the doc looks like he dances and packs lots of fudge.

Anyone know???

'Packs a lot of fudge'? Really?
Is that derogatory?
Is derogatory necessary?

I suppose if they made the character gay they would have had the extra problem of the young men he was teaching displaying homophobic attitudes (you know they're the kind of kids who would) on top of resisting the dances he was trying to teach them along with his 'old man music'. It might have been too much 'trying to win them over'.
